I still get excited when I see those giant tractor tires partly buried into the ground at parks.

Some people worry about falling asleep while taking a bath. I think I may be the only one who worries about falling asleep while taking a shower.

got art?

The Boston Globe recently reported on a small cooperative art gallery in western Massachusetts that had run afoul of technology giant Intel Corp. The issue? The gallery calls itself Art Inside, and Intel considers such word constructions as that to be a violation of its "Intel Inside" trademarked slogan. Intel wants the gallery to change its name, the Globe says.

After careful consideration, the gallery has decided to re-christen itself as Intel Blows.

Someone told me I had a "Jim Carrey vibe" going. I don't know how to take that.

p.s. Am I the only one who missed the freakin lunar eclipse last night? I had my binoculars out and everything.

The flag over Seahawks Stadium is flying at half staff today.

Nice of them to honor Robert Stack like that.

I hate to have to admit this, but I'm one of those people that sighs after every sip of coffee.

From the New York Times:

"And audiences love the [car] chase because if we wanted to listen to dullards yapping nonstop for two straight hours we would've gone to a play."

Yeah!

Two DJs were suspended from their jobs earlier this week in Colorado Springs when they played a Dixie Chicks song. When reached for comment, the station manager said, "This has nothing to do with what they said about President Bush, I just hate the Dixie Chicks."

Brains are funny.

I usually turn off my iPod once I walk outta the tunnel next to my building. More times than I can count, I've had the last played song in my head just before I turn it back on after work, and am usually surprised that I know what I'm going to hear.

It's as if my mind had kept Tom Waits' "Yesterday is Here" on perma-pause the entire day without me knowing.

Inspired by comte:

I have no personal effects on my desk at work. Everything is either work related or garbage (oh, except that page-a-day calendar of wacky lawsuits and court rulings). I do, however have two things posted on my tackboard behind my monitor: A fortune cookie fortune reading "You love Chinese food" and a cartoon (I'm assuming from the New Yorker - it was anonymously left on my chair one day after I was complaining about our budget) of two factions of cavemen, one leader says to the other "Why is the arts budget always the first thing to be cut, when you know damn well it's the only thing that separates us from the monkeys?"
