If a fireman gets tired of his job, could you say that he was burned out?

Overheard:

joker co-worker: Today's your birthday, is it?
manager co-worker: Yeah.
joker co-worker: How old are you?
manager co-worker: Forty-one.
joker co-worker: Forty-one? That's not old...if you're a rock.

Last weekend they blocked off Yesler way to hold an Xtreme Downhill Skateboard competition.

How can it be "extreme" if you block off the road from all the cars?

Perhaps I'm just insensitive and "out of touch" with today's mean streets, but I think it's absurd for a film company to have to compensate the homeless, prostitues, and drug dealers for displacement while filming.

What are they going to do, move some guy's cardboard box from West 83rd to North 42nd?

Hey crack dealer, pay income tax on that 30 rock you're selling to the guy in the box on W 83rd, then maybe I'll have sympathy for you when Disney blocks off your corner to shoot the next Tim Allen movie.

If you repeatedly pass a co-worker in the hall during the day, do you have to say hello each time?

Have I posted this before?

There's a surprising similarity between Elvis and Michael Jackson that I noticed yesterday. As young artists, they were both cutting edge and hip with fancy legwork and legions of fans.

As older artist, they're just weird. Elvis with his fried banana sandwiches and Jacko with his...well, where do you begin?

In most major cities which have war memorials, there's usually a special place set aside for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I've never understood this policy.

Some guy loses his wallet in battle and becomes a national hero?

Now they're starting to DNA test the unknown soldiers, but instead of having the Tomb of the Known Soldier, the rebury the guy when they ID him, and replace him with another Unknown Soldier.

Apparently, there's a warehouse of Unknown Soldiers somewhere waiting for the call.
